ABOUT US
Our Story

Built with purpose. Powered by community.
The Good Brick AUS began with a simple but life-changing idea: that pre-loved LEGO® can do more than spark creativity — it can change lives, build confidence, and help young people take their first steps into meaningful employment.
From our home at 14 Church St, Greensborough, we operate as a social enterprise and registered charity dedicated to providing supported, paid employment pathways for neurodivergent young people, especially those facing barriers to traditional work environments. Our retail store, community space, and online BrickLink operation all exist to create opportunities — brick by brick.
Our journey started with Andrew, a visionary founder with years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, and Mel, a retail and learning-and-development leader with a passion for inclusive training. Together, they built a model that blends creativity, purpose, and sustainability, giving young people a safe place to learn, work, and thrive.
Today, every brick that enters our doors is sorted, cleaned, and prepared by a team of young people whose strengths shine through the structured, supportive roles we’ve created — from colour-sorting and set rebuilding to customer service, inventory, online sales, and creative projects. Through this hands-on work, our team develops real skills in retail, logistics, communication, teamwork, digital systems, and more, all supported by mentors, community partners, and wellbeing networks.
But our mission doesn’t end at employment.
By giving second-hand LEGO® a new life, we’re also championing the circular economy, reducing waste, and offering families and collectors a sustainable, affordable alternative to buying new. Our community’s generous donations help us keep quality LEGO® out of landfill and into the hands of builders of all ages.
As we prepare to open our first store in January 2026, The Good Brick AUS is becoming more than a shop — it’s a welcoming hub for creativity, connection, and community. A place where:
Neurodivergent young people gain confidence and purpose
Families and fans discover unique, pre-loved LEGO®
Workshops, build nights, and school programs bring people together
Sustainability and social impact meet play
Our story is still being written — by our team members, board, volunteers, families, partners, and the community who believe in what we’re building.
And we’d love for you to be part of it.
The Good Brick AUS — building a more inclusive, supportive world, one brick at a time.
Our Mission

To build a sustainable, inclusive business that empowers neurodivergent people to thrive — while giving pre-loved LEGO® a new life through creativity, community, and the circular economy.
At The Good Brick AUS, our mission is grounded in three core commitments:
Inclusive Employment
We create supported, meaningful, and paid employment opportunities for neurodivergent young people. Through structured training, patient guidance, and strength-led roles, we help our team members build confidence, workplace skills, and long-term employability.
Sustainable Impact
By refurbishing and reselling pre-loved LEGO®, we reduce waste, promote reuse, and contribute to a circular economy. Every donation and purchase helps keep quality LEGO® out of landfill and into the hands of builders of all ages.
Community & Connection
Our store is more than a retail space — it’s a community hub where creativity, belonging, and kindness come first. Through workshops, partnerships, and events, we bring people together and celebrate what makes each person unique.
Our values

Our values guide every brick we sort, every conversation we have, and every young person we support.
1. Inclusion & Belonging
Everyone is welcome here. We celebrate neurodiversity, individuality, and difference. Our environment is designed to be sensory-considerate, safe, and supportive — a workplace where people are genuinely seen, heard, and valued.
2. Purpose Before Profit
We reinvest our success back into our mission. Every sale directly supports paid employment, training pathways, and community impact. When customers shop with us, they help change lives.
3. Creativity & Play
LEGO® inspires imagination at every age. We encourage creativity in all its forms — from intricate rebuilding to joyful experimentation. We believe play can build confidence, resilience, and connection.
4. Sustainability & Stewardship
We give second-hand LEGO® a new life, reduce plastic waste, and operate with environmental responsibility at the heart of our decisions. Every brick reused is one less in landfill.
5. Respect & Kindness
We treat everyone — team members, customers, volunteers, donors, and partners — with empathy and care. We believe in patience, encouragement, and leading with a generous spirit.
6. Growth & Confidence
We create pathways for personal and professional growth. Through our Skills Passport, mentoring, and structured training, we build independence, resilience, and long-lasting workplace confidence.
7. Community First
The Good Brick AUS is built for and with our community. We partner with local organisations, schools, councils, NDIS providers, and families to create opportunities that reach far beyond our store walls.
8. Safety & Wellbeing
We prioritise the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of everyone who steps into our space. This includes strong child safety practices, WHS compliance, and a culture where help is always available.
Community partnerships
